PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore
Lilli Stogner (Weare, N.H.) slammed down a match-high 12 kills to lead Plymouth State University to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-18) win over Norwich University in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Foley Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Freshman
Ava Duymazlar (Meredith, N.H.) served five straight points to turn a close game into a seven-point lead for the Panthers in set one. PSU would cruise to a 25-14 win.
The Panthers held a 13-11 lead midway through the middle stanza, before Duymazlar again sparked the home team with a long service run. Stogner smashed multiple kills during the spurt and PSU would take the second set, 25-18.
Norwich stayed close in the first half of the third set, but back-to-back kills by junior
Aynslee King (Anacortes, Wash.) sparked a 7-1 surge. The Cadets would pull to within 22-18 late, but junior
Nora Ryan (Groton, Conn.) took over with consecutive kills and a match-winning block to wrap up the win.
Plymouth State improves to 4-2, while the Cadets drop to 4-3.

How it Happened:
- Norwich took an early 5-3 lead before Stogner's first kill of the night. King notched a kill and block to give PSU a lead it wouldn't relinquish. The Cadets pulled to within 10-9, but freshman Kalista Butler (Philipsburg, Pa.) found the floor and Duymazlar's long service run bumped the lead to 16-9. Plymouth State would lead comfortably from there, with sophomore Lindsey Sanderson (Gilford, N.H.) closing out the 25-14 win with a kill.
- Senior Natalie Gravelle (Portsmouth, N.H.) got PSU off to a good start with a kill to start set two and three Cadets' errors made it 4-0 early. The visitors would rally to cut the margin to 13-11, but Ryan's kill and another long run from Duymazlar pushed the lead to 19-11. Stogner had a pair of kills and a block in the spurt. Norwich tried to rally late, cutting the deficit to 22-18, but an error and back-to-back PSU blocks closed out the 25-18 win.
- Set three stayed close through the early stages, with the hosts nursing a 14-12 lead. King slammed back-to-back kills to start a 7-1 surge as PSU took control. The Cadets again tried a late rally to cut the margin to 22-18, but Ryan took over from there with consecutive kills and a solo block to earn the 25-18 victory.
