FH: Healey’s two goals lead PSU over UMass Dartmouth

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Taylor Healey (Campton, N.H.) had two goals and added two assists to lead Plymouth State University over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, 4-0, in a Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey game on Panther Field Saturday afternoon. The game served as the annual Dorothy "Dot" Diehl game, honoring the long-time PSU field hockey coach and faculty member for her dedication to the advancement of women's sports.

Senior Savanah Connor (Dover, N.H.) deflected a Healey shot after she corralled a rebound and fired through traffic to open the scoring just 3:47 into the contest for a 1-0 Panthers' lead. PSU controlled play for the remainder of the first half but couldn't find the back of the cage.

Senior Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) extended the margin to 2-0 early in the third quarter. Healey came down the right side and got around the UMD defender and went in on goal. She stepped around the goalie and quickly passed to Comeau, who deposited her 12th goal of the season.

Graduate student Alessia Salzillo (Saugus, Mass.) received a pass on a penalty corner and sent a high-arching shot toward the cage and over the Corsairs' goalkeeper. Healey pounced on the rebound for her second of the game to make it 3-0.

PSU tacked on another goal off a penalty corner when freshman Sarah Adamske (Windham, N.H.) inserted the ball to Healey, who blasted one through the defense to account for the final score.
