PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Multiple Panthers took several first-place finishes to boost the Plymouth State University women's swim team past Colby-Sawyer, 129-59, during a season-opening, non-conference dual meet at the PSU Natatorium on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers' 200-yard medley relay team of freshman
Ollie Kramer (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and sophomores
Liv Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.),
Emma Seward (Los Angeles, Calif.) and
Jackie Gaigals (Rochester, N.H.) won the event by two seconds in a time of 2:09.97.
Gaigals continued the momentum to win the 100-yard IM by ten seconds in 1:13.00, and she nabbed her second individual victory in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.68.
Seward followed suit with two wins of her own in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly in times of 2:41.44 and 1:17.89, respectively.
Bailey also won a pair of individual events as the first to touch the wall in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.49, while also leading the field in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:23.03.
Plymouth State starts the year on the right foot (1-0), while Colby-Sawyer slips to 0-4.

How it Happened:
- The foursome of Bailey, Kramer, Seward and Gaigals jumpstarted the Panthers with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:09.97.
- Gaigals and junior Liana Gobin (Belfast, Maine) snagged the top two places in the 100-yard IM with times of 1:13.00 and 1:23.63, respectively.
- Bailey also took a win in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:23.03.
- Sophomore Paige Lee (Stratham, N.H.) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 28.07 seconds.
- Seward teamed up with freshman Gabby Gladu (Lewiston, Maine) in the 200-yard IM to take first and second in 2:41.44 and 2:54.31.
- Seward also won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:17.89, with Gobin right behind her in 1:25.35.
- Gaigals won the 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.68.
- Bailey and Lee swept the top two spots in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.49 and 1:11.67.
- Kramer added second-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.
- The Panthers capped the day off with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Gladu, Gobin, Lee and senior Heather Callanan (Winthrop, Mass.) combining for a 2:10.03.
