CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team fell to the Elms College Blazers in a non-conference game, 59-53, in the Picknelly Arena Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers found themselves down 16 points early in the second half before the team started to chip away at the scoreline. Plymouth State got to within a single point with just under six minutes to play but could not get the final bucket to put the team ahead, as Elms knocked down free throws late to hold off the comeback attempt.
Senior
Kyler Bosse (Manchester, N.H.) led all scorers with 22 points, while freshman
Tyler Clark-Toy (Concord, N.H.) added 10 points of his own. Junior
Elijah Swanson (Meredith, N.H.) recorded seven points and brought down five rebounds in the losing effort for the Panthers.
Bosse has scored 20-plus points in each game this season and now sits with 938 career points as he continues his pursuit of the PSU 1,000-point club.
The Panthers fall to 3-1 on the season, while Elms College improves to 2-3.

- The Blazers opened with a 5-0 lead two minutes into the first half.
- Plymouth State took its first lead of the game, 14-13, with 6:19 remaining until halftime.
- Elms closed out the first half on an 8-2 run to take a 21-16 advantage into the locker room.
- The Blazers continued the run to start the second half, gaining a 27-17 lead with 17:39 left to play.
- Three straight buckets found the Blazers up 16 points (37-21) as Elms looked to pull away.
- Plymouth State stormed back, recording 11-straight points to cut the deficit to 43-42 with 5:55 remaining in the contest.
- Elms responded, pulling ahead by six points, 52-46, with a shade over three minutes to go until the final whistle.
- The Panthers made it a one-possession game with 2:18 to go but could not jump ahead of Elms as the Blazers held off the second half surge and secured the win.
