WSWIM: Kramer, Seward lead Panthers to split

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Ollie Kramer (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Emma Seward (Los Angeles, Calif.) teamed up for the top finishes to help the Plymouth State University women's swim team split a double dual meet against Eastern Connecticut State University and host Western New England University at the Alumni Healthful Living Center Pool on Saturday.
 
Kramer picked up a win in the 200-yard freestyle and added a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, while Seward was second in the 500-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly.
 
Sophomore Liv Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.) chipped in a third place showing in the 100-yard backstroke to help Plymouth State squeak past Western New England, 125-121. Eastern Connecticut won twice, topping the Panthers 204.50-56.50, and the Golden Bears 187-67.

Individual Event Top Finishes: Teaming Up: How it Happened:
  • Sophomore Baillie Mako (Newport, N.H.) shaved nearly ten full seconds off her time in the 1000-yard freestyle.
  • Kramer claimed victory by almost three seconds in the 200-yard freestyle to finish in 2:15.73.
  • Bailey out-touched sophomore Paige Lee (Stratham, N.H.) in the 50-yard backstroke as the duo finished fourth and fifth.
  • Freshman Gabby Gladu (Lewiston, Maine) took fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 41.26.
  • Seward posted a season-best time in the 100-yard butterfly to finish fourth in 1:13.42.
  • Kramer was third in the 100-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 1:02.46.
  • Bailey claimed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.03, while Gladu was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best 1:27.97.
  • Seward sliced eight seconds off her time in the 500-yard freestyle to touch the wall in 6:04.28, good enough for second place.
  • Bailey added a fourth-place effort in the 100-yard IM in 1:14.16, just ahead of Seward's 1:14.24.
