WBB: Panthers nipped at UMaine Farmington

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's basketball team fell to the University of Maine Farmington Beavers, 47-46, in a non-conference meeting at Dearborn Gymnasium on Monday evening.

Plymouth State scored on back-to-back possessions in the final twenty seconds to tie the game at 46-46, but the Beavers managed to hit the final free throw with three seconds on the clock to secure the victory. Plymouth State had a chance at the buzzer, but the game-winning attempt bounced off the front rim.

Freshman Ashley Stephens (Pembroke, N.H.) led the Panthers with 13 points and eight rebounds, while graduate student Lea Crompton (Dunbarton, N.H.) recorded 10 points of her own in the losing effort.
