NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Plymouth State University women's swim team snagged a few top-three finishes, but the Panthers were held back by Norwich University in a dual meet at Goodyear Pool on Saturday.
After the 200-yard medley relay team started with a second place finish, freshman
Gabby Gladu (Lewiston, Maine) scored second in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 2:21.70.
Sophomore
Jackie Gaigals (Rochester, N.H.) also had a solid day nabbing two third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly in times of 28.51 seconds and 1:13.70.
Norwich outpaced the Panthers, 203-44, in the meet. PSU drops to 5-4 while the Cadets rise to 4-2.

How it Happened:
- The Panthers jumpstarted the day in the 200-yard medley relay with the group of Gladu, Gaigals and sophomores Liv Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.) and Paige Lee (Stratham, N.H.) with a combined time of 2:10.67 for second place.
- Freshman Ollie Kramer (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) took third in the 200-yard freestyle to start individual events in 2:21.70, while junior Liana Gobin (Belfast, Maine) placed fourth in 2:40.32.
- Junior Sam Morales-Barszcz (Meriden, Conn.) and senior Heather Callanan (Winthrop, Mass.) placed fourth and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:20.88 and 1:28.87, respectively.
- Gladu snagged second in the 100-yard breaststroke after touching the wall in 1:25.27.
- Gaigals and Lee scored places in the top-four in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.51 and 28.61 seconds, respectively.
- Callanan returned in the 100-yard freestyle for another fourth place finish in 1:18.11, before Morales-Barszcz took fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:59.92.
- Sophomore Emma Seward (Los Angeles, Calif.) was third in the 500-yard freestyle when she finished in 6:21.36, as sophomore Bailie Mako (Newport, N.H.) added a fifth place finish in 7:25.26.
- Gaigals and Gobin both came back in the 100-yard butterfly for third and fourth in 1:13.70 and 1:24.20.
- Gladu finished the day in the 400-yard IM for fourth place with a time of 6:07.96.
- Lee, Kramer, Gaigals and Bailey capped the meet in second place in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:55.43.
