WATERVILLE, Maine – Colby College scored twice in the opening two minutes on the way to an 8-0 win over Plymouth State University in a non-conference women's ice hockey game at Jack Kelley Rink on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Mules, ranked eighth in this week's USCHO.com national poll, stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first 4:07 of action to seize control early. The hosts added a fourth first-period tally late in the frame before bookending the second period with another two scores. Colby rounded out the scoring with a pair of third-period markers.

Amelia Julian (Apple Valley, Minn.) made 34 saves in the setback.
 
Plymouth State dips to 4-15-0, while the Mules go to 12-3-1.

How it Happened:
	- The Mules jumped out to a 1-0 lead 1:11 into play with a strong move around Julian before converting the backhand.
 
	- Colby made it 2-0 just over 30 seconds later on a quick one-timer in the slot.
 
	- The hosts added another tally at the 4:07 mark when another backhanded shot deflected off the far post and in.
 
	- Colby added a fourth goal when the puck deflected directly to a Mules' skater off a blocked shot.
 
	- The hosts scored twice in the middle stanza, striking in the opening minute and again with 1:25 left on the clock.
 
	- Colby closed out the scoring with two third-period goals.
 
By the Numbers:
	- Plymouth State's penalty kill unit was a bright spot for the Panthers, holding Colby scoreless on five chances.
 
	- Colby fired 42 shots on goal to the Panthers' seven.
 
	- Plymouth State blocked 19 shots with senior Lauren McNeil (Ottawa, Ontario) blocking five and sophomore Jacqueline Martin (Smithfield, R.I.) stopping four.
 
	- The game was already the Panthers' fifth against a nationally ranked team, with #11 Norwich headed to town this weekend.
