PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior
Alli Ingalls (Hampstead, N.H.) scored a season-high 14 points, but Rivier University got past Plymouth State University, 55-40, in a non-conference women's basketball game at Foley Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
The Panthers nursed a one-point lead after one, but Rivier went into the lead early in the second and used a late run to create some distance, 34-25, heading into halftime. The Raiders pushed the lead to double figures in the third quarter and Plymouth State was unable to rally.
PSU slips to 2-5 on the season, while Rivier moves to 1-5.

How it Happened:
- The game got out to a slow start as Rivier held a modest 6-2 lead midway through the first quarter.
- The Panthers heated up in the final few minutes. Junior Hailey Malozzi (Maynard, Mass.) got to the basket and classmate Raegan Peck (Dudley, Mass.) and Ingalls nailed back-to-back threes as PSU snagged a 13-12 lead after one.
- Rivier went back in front early in the second quarter and the visitors held a 21-16 advantage with 5:48 before halftime.
- Plymouth State followed with a 7-0 burst, but the Raiders closed the quarter with a 13-2 surge to take a 34-25 lead into the locker room.
- The visitors extended the lead to 13 (42-29) midway through the third.
- Things stayed even through the remainder of the frame as Rivier carried a 44-32 advantage into the fourth quarter.
- Plymouth State attempted to rally in the fourth quarter, but Rivier kept the Panthers at arm's length
By the Numbers:
- The Panthers went 14-of-50 (28.0%) from the floor and 4-of-16 (25.0%) from three.
- Plymouth State outrebounded the Raiders by a 42-34 margin, and 15-11 on the offensive glass.
