NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Sophomore
Will Redick (Collingwood, Ontario) potted another two goals to lead #15 Plymouth State University to a 7-4 win over MCLA in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's ice hockey game at Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink on Saturday night.
Redick scored twice in a three-goal opening period as the Panthers jumped out to an early lead. MCLA cut the deficit to 4-3 with 4:10 left in the middle period, but PSU answered right back before tacking on another two goals in the third period.
Plymouth State improves to 17-2-2 (14-1-2 MASCAC), while MCLA falls to 4-15-1 and 2-13-1 in MASCAC play.

How it Happened:
- Junior Cam Patton (Truro, Nova Scotia) gave the Panthers an early lead with a tally 5:55 into the first.
- Redick followed with back-to-back goals to extend the margin to 3-0 with 6:45 left in the frame.
- MCLA got one back 5:42 into the second to make it 3-1.
- Sophomore Payton Schaly (Orillia, Ontario) had the answer for the Panthers midway through the stanza, but the hosts ripped off a pair of scores to pull within 4-3 with 4:10 left in the second.
- Freshman David Matousek (West Chester, Pa.) restored the two-goal lead just 47 seconds later as PSU went into the third with a 5-3 advantage.
- Plymouth State potted a pair of insurance goals in the third period with junior Connor Tait (Boyds, Md.) and senior Anton Jellvik (Taby, Sweden) each lighting the lamp.
- MCLA closed out the scoring with a power play goal with 4:48 to play to account for the 7-4 final.
By the Numbers:
- Redick, who also contributed an assist on the night, continues to pace the nation in scoring. His 23 goals are seven more than the next closest, while his 46 points easily eclipse his closest competitor by 14.
- Patton chipped in with a goal and an assist each.
- Freshman Will Pray (Wheaton, Ill.) dished out three helpers, while junior Ethan Stuckless (Conception Bay South, Newfoundland) and senior Carson Lanceleve (Stewiacke, Nova Scotia) also had multipoint games with two assists apiece.
- Freshman Connor Strobel (Butler, Pa.) made 18 saves to pick up the win in his collegiate debut.
- PSU peppered the MCLA goaltender with 77 shots.
- The Panthers finished 0-for-5 on the power play, while MCLA was 1-for-4.
