PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Juniors
Olivia Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.) and
Jackie Gaigals (Rochester, N.H.) were bright spots for the Plymouth State University women's swim team as the Panthers fell to Norwich University, 204-69, in a dual meet at the PSU Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Bailey was part of both relays that scored second place finishes, posting a 2:11.25 in the 200-yard medley and a 2:00.62 in the 200-yard freestyle. She broke off on her own for two individual wins in the 200-yard backstroke and 50-yard backstroke with times of 2:24.88 and 31.39 seconds.
Gaigals took a turn at each of the three podium spots, winning the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.31), taking second in the 50-yard butterfly (31.51) and placing third in the 50-yard freestyle (28.66). She also swam a leg of the 200-yard medley relay.
Plymouth State moves to 3-7, while the Cadets go to 5-1.

How it Happened:
- Bailey, Gaigals, and sophomores Ollie Kramer (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Laurel Bennett (Rindge, N.H.) teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay for a second place finish in 2:11.25.
- Kramer snapped back in the 200-yard freestyle with a second place finish in 2:14.28.
- Bailey grabbed the first victory of the day in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:24.88.
- Bennett scored third in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 3:22.37, and Gaigals was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.66 seconds.
- Gaigals followed up with the second win in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.41.
- Bailey finished her individual events with her second win, this coming in the 50-yard backstroke in 31.39 seconds.
- Gaigals got herself a runner up finish in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 31.51.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay of Bailey, Bennett, senior Liana Gobin (Belfast, Maine) and sophomore Gabby Gladu (Lewiston, Maine) took second in 2:00.62.
