NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Junior
Will Redick (Collingwood, Ontario) potted his fourth career hat trick and was named to the All-Tournament Team as Plymouth State University cruised past Williams College, 8-2, in the consolation game of the Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament hosted by Norwich University at Kreitzberg Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Brendan Doyle (Stratham, N.H.) added a pair of goals, including the game's first in the final minute of the opening period. The Panthers extended the lead with a pair of early goals in the second period, though Williams one back with a power play tally midway through the second to make it 3-1. PSU put the game out of reach after exploding for five third period markers.
Redick posted a hat trick and added an assist for a season best four points. Freshman
Matt Hale (Center Harbor, N.H.) picked up his first career goal and added an assist, while classmate
Thomas Kaufield (Calgary, Alberta) tallied a goal and assist in his first career game.
Plymouth State improves to 8-4-0, while the Ephs slip to 3-6-1.

How it Happened:
- Doyle kicked off the scoring with just 44 seconds left in the opening period with a wrist shot from the high slot.
- PSU doubled the lead when sophomore Koby Howat (Honey Brook, Pa.) received a cross ice pass and whipped a shot from the left circle inside the left post 3:28 into the second.
- Redick followed with his first 2:21 later after converting into a wide open net following a perfect feed from sophomore Severi Sulonen (Turku, Finland) to make it 3-0, before the Ephs got one back on the power play midway through the period.
- Plymouth State exploded in the third period. Doyle potted his second of the game just 28 seconds in and Redick followed with back-to-back markers to push the lead to 6-1.
- Hale continued the onslaught with a short-handed tally with seven minutes left and, following another Williams power play goal, Kaufield capped the scoring with his first career goal with three minutes to play.
By the Numbers:
- Redick now leads the team with nine goals on the year.
- Junior Lucas Jones (Calgary, Alberta) dished out three assists, while graduate student Colin Tracy (Bow, N.H.) had a pair of helpers.
- Junior Brandon Shantz (San Antonio, Texas) made 35 saves to pick up the win.
- Twelve different players registered points for the Panthers.
- Both teams fired 37 shots on goal.
- PSU went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Panthers' penalty kill was busy, holding Williams to 2-for-11.
- Redick also won 12-of-15 faceoffs for the game.
- The game was the first ever meeting between the two teams.
