PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman
Clara Wilson (Montpelier, Vt.) netted her first collegiate goal, but Roger Williams University overpowered Plymouth State University, 6-1, in non-conference women's soccer action at Arold Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hawks – ranked fifth in Region II in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll – came out fast, building a 4-0 lead within the first 24 minutes of play. Plymouth State managed to slow the pace to keep the deficit at four heading into halftime, but the visitors added two more tallies just over two minutes apart early in the second half to extend the margin.

Katherine Gough (Windsor Locks, Conn.) in the 80th minute to spoil the Hawks' shutout bid.
Plymouth State slides to 4-6-0, while Roger Williams improves to 6-1-3.

How it Happened:
- The Hawks opened the scoring in the 9th minute.
- Roger Williams doubled the margin in the 15th minute, then added two more goals in a three-minute span to make it 4-0.
- PSU applied some late first-half pressure, but a shot from junior Drea Oswell (Stafford Springs, Conn.) was blocked as the score stayed 4-0 at the break.
- Roger Williams struck twice in quick succession to push the lead to 6-0.
- In the 80th minute, Gough delivered a perfect corner to the back of the six-yard box, where Wilson headed it home for her first career goal.
