WSOC: Regionally ranked Roger Williams too strong for Panthers

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman Clara Wilson (Montpelier, Vt.) netted her first collegiate goal, but Roger Williams University overpowered Plymouth State University, 6-1, in non-conference women's soccer action at Arold Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks – ranked fifth in Region II in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll – came out fast, building a 4-0 lead within the first 24 minutes of play. Plymouth State managed to slow the pace to keep the deficit at four heading into halftime, but the visitors added two more tallies just over two minutes apart early in the second half to extend the margin.

PSU battled to the end, with Wilson connecting on a header off a corner kick from classmate Katherine Gough (Windsor Locks, Conn.) in the 80th minute to spoil the Hawks' shutout bid.
