PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's soccer team ran past the Fisher College Falcons, 4-0, in a non-conference women's soccer matchup on Senior Day at Arold Field Saturday.
The Panthers delivered a shutout for the second straight game, withholding the Falcons from recording a single offensive statistic on the afternoon. Fisher ended with zero corners, zero shots, and zero shots on goal in a rare perfect defensive performance.
Plymouth State had four different goal scorers, as seniors
Molly Bellmore (Hebron, Conn.) and
Emily McDonough (Peabody, Mass.) each tallied first half goals, while freshmen
Corinne Palhof (Loudon, N.H.) and
Clara Wilson (Montpelier, Vt.) rounded out the Panther scoring. Bellmore and freshman
Sophie West (Rochester, N.H.) each registered an assist.

Plymouth State improves to 6-7-0, while the Falcons slide to 2-7-0.

How it Happened:
- McDonough was the first to strike in the 12th minute on a perfectly placed ball played back across goal to the low right corner to give the Panthers a 1-0 early lead.
- The Plymouth State advantage was extended to 2-0 on a penalty kick awarded in the 26th minute. Bellmore was equal to the task and buried the kick from the spot.
- Minutes before halftime Palhof recorded her first career goal to put the Panthers ahead 3-0.
- Plymouth State wasted no time extending the margin to 4-0 in the 51st minute, as the Panthers seemed to put the game out of reach.
- Both teams slowed things down to close out the afternoon, as the Panthers cruised to a comfortable win.
By the Numbers:
- Plymouth State outshot the Falcons, 17-0.
- Shots on goal went to the Panthers, 9-0.
- The Panthers had four different goal scorers in a match for the second time this year.
- PSU has recorded back-to-back shutouts.
- Plymouth State accomplished a rare feat, believed to be the first in program history, by holding its opponent without a shot, shot on goal, or corner kick.
- This was just the second meeting between the two teams. The Panthers won the only other matchup, 6-0, during the 2013 season.
