PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's soccer team posted a 4-0 shutout over Vermont State University Lyndon in non-conference action at Arold Field on
Senior Day Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers exploded for three goals in a four-minute span midway through the first half to seize control. Junior
Caleb Charnley (Harlow Town, United Kingdom) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before classmate
Michael Gilbert (Roscrea, Ireland) struck twice in quick succession. Junior
Marco D'Addona (Torrington, Conn.) added a fourth goal just before the halftime whistle to seal the victory.
Charnley also recorded a first-half assist, while senior
Massimo Korcsog (Ottawa, Ontario) and freshman
Alex Giroux (Derby, Vt.) each added assists of their own.
Prior to kickoff, Plymouth State honored its senior class for their commitment and dedication to the program:

Plymouth State improves to 4-8-1, while the Hornets fall to 1-12-0.

How it Happened:
- It took some time for the Panthers to find the grass under their cleats, but Charnley buried the opening goal in the 23rd minute for a 1-0 lead.
- Minutes later, Charnley found the foot of Gilbert, who finished into the lower left corner to double the advantage to 2-0.
- Plymouth State poured in its third goal in the 27th minute as Gilbert found the back of the net for the second time of the afternoon to increase the advantage to 3-0.
- D'Addona capped the first-half onslaught with a goal in the final minute, extending the margin to 4-0 with 36 seconds remaining in the half.
- With a comfortable margin, the Panthers controlled possession throughout the second half to preserve the shutout.
By the Numbers:
- Plymouth State limited the Hornets to just one total shot, while outshooting them 23-1 overall.
- Shots on goal favored PSU 13-0.
- The Panthers held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
- The last game PSU scored four first-half goals also came against the Hornets – an 8-0 win in 2023.
- Plymouth State remains unbeaten against the Hornets since 2016, posting a 7-0-1 record and winning each of the last seven meetings.
