WSOC: Panthers stave off Salem State on Sullivan’s tally

SALEM, Mass. – The Plymouth State University women's soccer team defeated Salem State University, 1-0, in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at Alumni Field on Wednesday evening.

The Panthers scored the game's only goal in the 7th minute when senior Piper Sullivan (Laconia, N.H.) headed home a well-placed cross off a free kick from freshman Islah Godo (Topsham, Maine). That was all Plymouth State would need to secure its third shutout of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Sydney Rowe (Cañon City, Colo.) recorded her first shutout of the year – the third of her career – after turning away all four Viking shots on goal.

Plymouth State improves to 5-7-0, while the Vikings move to 6-4-2.
