WESTFIELD, Mass. – A pair of Plymouth State University football student-athletes earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) weekly honors for their performances in Saturday's season finale at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Sophomore wide receiver
Devin Connally (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and junior defensive back
Greg Berthiaume (North Attleborough, Mass.) were both named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Connally caught six passes for 128 yards and a touchdown and added 23 kickoff return yards in PSU's 42-21 setback to the Corsairs. He hauled in a 45-yard reception on the Panthers' third play to convert a third down, added a key eight-yard catch to help move the chains in the second quarter, and scored on a 30-yard touchdown reception in the third.
Berthiaume recorded game highs of 13 tackles and eight solo tackles, including one tackle for loss.
Despite the setback, Plymouth State (8-2, 7-2 MASCAC) still earned a share of the MASCAC regular season title for the second time, finishing in a three-way tie with Anna Maria and Framingham State atop the league standings. Framingham State received the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
