WATERVILLE, Maine – Freshmen
Alex White (Derry, N.H.) and
Macy Swormstedt (Laconia, N.H.) combined for 25 points as Plymouth State University cruised past Elms College, 70-53, to close out the Terrier Tip-Off Classic hosted by Thomas College at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
Plymouth State relied on a suffocating defense – limiting the Blazers to just 18.9% shooting (7-of-37) in the first half – to build a 34-20 lead at the break. Staked to a comfortable margin, the Panthers coasted through the second half to finish the weekend unbeaten.
White led the PSU offense with 13 points (4-of-5 fg) and four rebounds, while Swormstedt added 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Junior
Ashley Stephens (Pembroke, N.H.) was also in double figures, chipping in 10 points, four rebounds, and three blocks in the win.
