PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior
Teagan Wilson (Salisbury, Mass.) made 31 saves, but league-leading Norwich University edged Plymouth State University, 3–0, in a Little East Conference (LEC) women's ice hockey matchup at Hanaway Rink on Wednesday afternoon.
Wilson turned aside 10 shots in the opening frame, but the Cadets broke through in the closing minutes with a well-placed snipe to the top right corner. A rebound goal early in the second made it 2-0. Junior
Laura Castronova (Hauppauge, N.Y.) generated a pair of strong chances during a late second-period power play, but the Norwich goaltender stood tall. The Cadets added an empty-netter with less than two minutes remaining to seal the outcome.
Plymouth State slips to 2-6-0 (0-6-0 LEC), while Cadets stay unbeaten in conference play at 6-2-0 (6-0-0 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Both teams killed off early penalties in an up-and-down opening period. Wilson made a huge save, kicking out a prime chance with just under six minutes left.
- Norwich broke through with 2:07 left in the frame on a corner snipe from the bottom of the right circle.
- The Cadets tapped in a rebound 3:49 into the second to double the lead.
- Castronova generated two close-range opportunities on a PSU power play late in the period, but the Norwich goalie denied both.
- Wilson shut down a 2-on-1 break in the final minute to keep it 2-0 heading into the second intermission.
- PSU killed off back-to-back power plays, including 20 seconds of 5-on-3, midway through the third.
- Junior Lilli Warnock (Bernardsville, N.J.) had a quality look on a power play with four minutes left, but the Norwich goaltender again made the stop before the Cadets added a late empty-netter.
By the Numbers:
- Warnock registered a team-high four shots.
- Wilson surpassed 30 saves for the second time this season and the 10th time in her career.
- Both teams went scoreless on the power play, as PSU finished 0-for-4 while the Cadets were 0-for-3.
- Norwich is receiving votes in the latest USCHO.com poll.
