PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Eleven members of the Plymouth State University men's outdoor track & field team earned postseason recognition as the Little East Conference (LEC) announced its major awards winners, All-Conference honorees, and All-Rookie teams on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior
Dylan Flewelling (Oakland, Maine) claimed the team's top honor with All-LEC First Team recognition after winning the 5,000 meters at the LEC Championships last weekend with a time of 15:25.09.
Seniors
Brayden White (Whitefield, N.H.) and
Connor Wilcox (Colchester, Conn.), along with sophomore
Elijah Thomas (Stoughton, Mass.), earned Second Team honors in the 400 meters, 10,000 meters, and 110-meter hurdles, respectively. White secured the silver medal with a sub-50-second performance in the 400 meters, while Wilcox was runner-up in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:03.85. Thomas placed fourth in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles, but shaved more than a half a second off his time in the finals to finish second in 15.39 seconds.
Junior
Josh Rebello (North Dighton, Mass.) was named to the All-LEC Third Team after capturing bronze in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.79. Freshman
Cooper Conklin (Cumberland, R.I.) also placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.13 meters and earned All-Rookie Team honors as the top-finishing first-year competitor in the field.
Plymouth State's 4x400-meter and 4x800-meter relay squads also earned All-Conference recognition. Seniors
Christian Oglesby (Penacook, N.H.) and
Joey Cappelletti (Mansfield, Mass.), junior
Zach Hodge (Springfield, N.H.), and White teamed up for a silver-medal performance in the 4x400-meter relay, setting a program record with a time of 3:23.17. In the 4x800-meter relay, senior
Eli Roth (Stamford, Conn.), sophomore
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.), Flewelling, and Rebello combined for a time of 8:10.27 to finish third.
Plymouth State scored 68 points at the championship meet to finish sixth overall.
Qualifying athletes travel to Coast Guard Academy this Friday (May 1) and Saturday (May 2) for the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship.
