PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's soccer team fell to the Vermont State University Castleton Spartans, 2-0, in Little East Conference (LEC) action at Arold Field in a Saturday matinee.
The Panthers controlled much of the play, limiting the Spartans to just five shots, but Castleton capitalized on its opportunities to earn the upset victory. It was the Spartans' first win in Plymouth since 2015.
Plymouth State slips to 4-5-0 (0-3-0 LEC), while Castleton improves to 3-6-0 (1-2-0 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The Panthers dominated early, firing the game's first eight shots and keeping pressure on the Spartans
- Against the run of play, Castleton struck first on its opening scoring chance in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- Plymouth State forced three more saves from the opposing goalkeeper but remained down by a goal at halftime.
- The Panthers came out aggressively in the second half but could not convert early opportunities.
- Castleton extended its lead to 2-0 in the 70th minute and Plymouth State was unable to rally.

- Castleton recorded five corner kicks to Plymouth State's two.
- It was only the second win by the Spartans in Plymouth since 1997.
