DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Senior
Sarah Adamske (Windham, N.H.) and graduate student
Ellie Monahan (Watertown, Mass.) each scored twice to lead Plymouth State University to a 6-1 win over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey game at Cressy Field on Saturday afternoon.
Monahan got the Panthers on the board just over five minutes into the contest, redirecting a pass from junior
Lexi Berrettini (Lake Bluff, Ill.) across the goal mouth to give Plymouth State a 1-0 lead. The Panthers controlled play throughout the first half, adding two more goals in the second quarter. Adamske tallied her first of the game at the 5:28 mark, tapping in a rebound after Monahan's shot slipped past the UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper and hit the post. Less than five minutes later, junior
Georgia Coleman (North Conway, N.H.) fired a shot past the goalkeeper to extend the lead to 3-0.
Adamske struck again midway through the third quarter, firing through traffic to push the advantage to 4-0. UMass Dartmouth got on the board early in the fourth quarter, but Berrettini converted a pass from senior
Abby Bsullak (Poland, Maine) to restore the four-goal lead. Monahan capped the scoring in the final minute, knocking home a feed from freshman
Amelia Avery (Campton, N.H.).
