WELLESLEY, Mass. – Senior
Olivia Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.) and junior
Ollie Kramer (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) both medaled for the second straight day, while Kramer continued her assault on the distance events record book to lead the Plymouth State University women's swim team on day two of the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships at the Boston Sports Institute on Saturday.
Bailey notched a personal-best time in the 100-yard backstroke to secure her fourth career medal – tied for the most by a swimmer in program history.
Kramer destroyed the school record for the 1,000-yard freestyle by more than nine seconds to claim her second silver medal in as many days.
Plymouth State finished day two with 150 team points, ranking 10th and sitting just nine points behind UMass Dartmouth.
Meet Highlights:
- Kramer extended her dominance in the distance events, crushing the school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle by 9.01 seconds to finish to earn silver in 11:13.75.
- Bailey qualified second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.89. She dropped her time to 1:01.70 in the championship finals to claim silver, shaving 0.49 seconds off her previous personal best.
- Senior Jackie Gaigals (Rochester, N.H.) finished 13th in the preliminaries of the 100-yard breaststroke after a personal-best time of 1:18.06 – a remarkable 2.59 seconds ahead of her previous best performance. She was just off the pace in the consolation finals, finishing seventh in 1:18.38.
- Junior Vickie Ni (Lebanon, N.H.) and freshman Kelsey Kuligowski (Manchester, Conn.) competed in the 50-yard butterfly. Ni posted a PR of 38.29 seconds to finish 25th in the prelims, while Kuligowski was 28th in 44.75.
- Bailey, junior Gabby Gladu (Lewiston, Maine), Gaigals, and Kramer teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay to finish ninth in 2:03.17.
- In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Kramer, freshman Savana Vieira (Berkley, Mass.), junior Laurel Bennett (Rindge, N.H.), and Gladu combined for a time of 9:26.90 to finish 10th.

- The championships conclude on Sunday (Feb. 15). Prelims are set for 10:00 a.m., with finals to begin at 5:30 p.m.
