WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Senior
Elli Cox (Deerfield, N.H.) ended her career with her first double-double, tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds, but the Plymouth State University women's basketball team fell to Eastern Connecticut State University, 75-61, in a Little East Conference (LEC) matchup at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman
Macy Swormstedt (Laconia, N.H.) led all Panthers with 14 points, while senior
Hailey Malozzi (Maynard, Mass.) added 11 points of her own in the losing effort for the Panthers.
Cox scored six of her 12 points in a fourth quarter comeback attempt which cut the Warriors' lead to six points late in the contest before Eastern Connecticut was able to pull away.
Plymouth State ends the season at 10-15 (3-13 LEC), while Eastern Connecticut goes to 9-16 (6-10 LEC).

- The Panthers got off to a blazing start, taking a 12-0 lead in the first three-and-a-half minutes.
- Eastern Connecticut responded late in the first quarter with a 9-0 run to trim the Panthers' lead to 21-19 after one.
- The Warriors took their first lead of the game midway through the second quarter, using an 8-2 flurry to go up 34-31.
- PSU used a late 6-2 spurt to go back in front, 37-36, at halftime.
- Eastern Connecticut pulled away in the third quarter, using a 14-2 run to go up 50-42 with 4:01 left in the quarter.
