PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore
Amelia Laidlaw (New Boston, N.H.) secured her first career win as Plymouth State University blanked Vermont State University Lyndon, 5-0, in a non-conference women's tennis match at the Holderness School Courts on Tuesday afternoon.
Laidlaw coasted at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, for her first collegiate victory to secure the 5-0 decision. Senior

Sidney Huff (Port Orchard, Wash.) cruised at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, and that would be the only game the Hornets would take on the afternoon. Sophomore
Leela Bakhshi (Plymouth, N.H.) and senior
Anyah Fields (San Diego, Calif.) secured the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 2.
In singles play, Plymouth State secured identical 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, before Laidlaw completed the sweep at No. 4. The teams did not play Nos. 5 or 6 singles.
Plymouth State improves to 4-2, while the Hornets fall to 1-2.

How it Happened:
- Orama and Huff teamed up for a quick 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Bakhshi and Fields secured the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 2.
- In singles action, senior Chloe Ahern (Middleton, Mass.) coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1, while Bakhshi, who played at No. 2 for the first time, also secured a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
- Fields went 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 to extend the lead to 4-0, and Laidlaw closed out the sweep with a double bagel at No. 4.
By the Numbers:
- Laidlaw's win was the first of her career.
- Bakhshi continued her breakout season and now leads the team with 5-1 records in both singles and doubles play.
- Fields picked up her fourth straight singles win and is tied with Huff for second most on the team.
- Plymouth State has already surpassed last year's win total.
