PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University scored four unanswered goals, including three in the fourth quarter, to pull away for a 5-1 win over Framingham State University in a non-conference field hockey game at Panther Field on Thursday afternoon.
PSU got on the board just over five minutes into the contest when junior
Lexi Berrettini (Lake Bluff, Ill.) received a pass in tight from graduate student
Ellie Monahan (Watertown, Mass.) and buried it into the back of the cage.
Framingham State answered moments later to tie the game, but the Panthers regained the lead just over a minute later when junior
Georgia Coleman (North Conway, N.H.) scored her second of the season off a penalty corner.
The game stayed tight into the fourth quarter, but the PSU offense rattled off three goals in the final 10 minutes of play to seal the win. Monahan deposited her fourth of the season from distance, and senior
Abby Bsullak (Poland, Maine) hammered home a rebound for her sixth of the year with just under five minutes to play. Monahan added her second of the game with less than three minutes remaining to secure the win.
Plymouth State improves to 1-7, while the Rams dip to 3-5.

How it Happened:
- PSU opened the scoring when Berrettini one-timed a pass from Monahan 5:32 into the game.
- Framingham State pulled even moments later.

- The Panther offense continued to pepper the Framingham State cage, but the Rams' defense turned away several chances.
- PSU added to its lead when Monahan scored from distance off a pass from graduate student Jasmine Peterson (Alexandria, N.H.) to make it 3-1.
- Bsullak buried a rebound following a flurry of shots toward the Framingham State cage.
- Monahan added her second of the afternoon just over two minutes later to make it 5-1.
