Sydney Riley (Haverhill, Mass.) earned Little East Conference (LEC) recognition on Monday as the league announced its weekly award winners.
Riley was honored as the LEC Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Panthers jumpstart the 2026 campaign with a 4-1 record.
Riley averaged 2.47 kills per set and hit .380 with 10 blocks as the Panthers picked up wins over New England College, Fitchburg State, Amherst College and Neumann University, while falling just short in a five-set battle with Roger Williams.
Riley pounded 10 kills with three blocks in the season-opening win at NEC and posted back-to-back matches with 10-plus kills and a hitting percentage above .500 at the Roger Williams Invitational over the weekend. She posted 13 kills (.524) in the five-set loss to the Hawks, then followed with 11 kills (.563) and three blocks in a sweep of Amherst. Riley finished the week with 42 kills, averaging 2.47 per set, to go with 10 blocks.
The Panthers host Norwich University on Tuesday (Sept. 8) before heading to WPI for a trimatch with Wesleyan University and the host Engineers on Saturday (Sept. 12).
