Ryan McIntosh was named interim head coach at the conclusion of the 2022 season but has been part of the Panthers' coaching staff since 2015. Following the 2023 season, McIntosh was elevated to head coach.

In his first season leading the team, McIntosh helped the Panthers to a seventh-place finish in the Little East Conference (LEC), missing the postseason by just one spot. The team improved its conference record in 2024, despite not having a home field after December flooding made Parish Field unplayable for the entire spring. With the team playing its home games at Robbie Mills Field in Laconia, McIntosh led the team to a midseason four-game winning streak behind a powerful offensive run. The team plated a remarkable 55 runs during the stretch, launching four home runs in a win over UMass Boston.

The 2025 season opened with an outstanding pitching effort, as three Panthers combined for a three-hit shutout in a 1-0, 10-inning win at Bates. A pair of dominant starts also led PSU to a sweep of WestConn in late April, as the team made a late-season push for the LEC Tournament.

McIntosh began his coaching career working with hitters and base runners on their mental and physical approaches to the game in 2015. During his first season running the offense, the team set records in doubles in a game and season and stolen bases in a game and season.

His tactical approach to the game helped foster a fast-paced, aggressive offensive style. Plymouth State hit just two home runs in his first year, but by 2016 McIntosh's training helped increase the team total to 18. In 2018, the Panthers led the nation in stolen bases per nine innings after swiping a program-record 140 bags.

As a three-year player at Plymouth State, McIntosh's production was impressive with 71 RBI and 30 doubles. He was thrown out only once on the base paths over his collegiate baseball career, bringing a diverse experience and teaching approach to the Panthers' staff.

A native of Lincoln, N.H., McIntosh was a standout player at Lin-Wood High School and played three seasons at Plymouth State from 2011-13.

After graduating from Plymouth State, McIntosh became a certified personal trainer for private clientele at local golf courses and clubs. In addition to personal training, he now serves as the manager of the Motion Analysis Laboratory in Charlestown, Mass. - a Harvard-based biomedical research lab specializing in robotics, wearable technology and biomechanics.
