Becky Dale was introduced as the head coach of the women's lacrosse team in July 2022 and led the team to the NCAA Tournament in each of her first three seasons at the helm.

Dale led the team to a 12-7 record and the LEC Tournament title in her first season in 2023. The Panthers rallied from a two-goal deficit with less than three minutes to play to beat WestConn in overtime in the LEC Championship game.

Dale’s 2024 squad rebounded from an 0-2 start to win five straight conference games as part of a nine-game winning streak. The Panthers defeated top-seeded WestConn in the LEC semifinals before defeating Keene State for the program’s 10th LEC Tournament championship. The team boasted both the LEC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in Julia Donovan ’25 and Megan Gaspa ’24 ‘25G.

A year later, PSU went 16-4, one win shy of the program record, and earned the top seed for the LEC Tournament. WestConn upset the Panthers in the title game, but PSU earned the program’s and conference’s first at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Plymouth State defeated Marymount (Va.), 20-16, in the first round before falling to No. 8 York in the second round. The win was the program’s third NCAA Tournament victory.

NCAA Tournament appearances were nothing new for Dale, who won a pair of LEC Championships and made two NCAA Tournament appearances as a player before helping the Panthers advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in her first of two seasons as an assistant coach.

Plymouth State went 47-20 and made four consecutive LEC Tournament championship game appearances during her four playing seasons from 2014-17, winning conference titles as a freshman and senior. She returned to campus as an assistant coach in 2019 and helped PSU to a third straight LEC title and the program's second NCAA Tournament victory.

All told, the Panthers have played in the conference finals in eight of her nine seasons with the team as a player and coach, winning five championships, three regular-season titles and making in six NCAA Tournaments appearances.

Dale served as assistant coach at Skidmore College in 2021 and 2022, where she led the defense, handled scouting and recruiting responsibilities and mentored multiple All-Liberty League and academic honorees.
Dale had previously patrolled the sidelines for the Panthers during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. PSU went a perfect 7-0 in the LEC in 2019, claiming the conference regular-season and tournament titles and returning to the NCAA Tournament.

A three-year starter at defense, Dale earned All-LEC First Team honors as a senior.
