SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Brittany Veazie (Dexter,
Maine) tallied both of the Springfield College goals Tuesday
evening as the No. 14 Pride defeated Plymouth State University,
2-1, in non-conference field hockey action at Stagg Field.

The Pride improve to 15-3 on the season while the Panthers had
their five-game winning streak snapped and fell to 9-6.

After a scoreless first half, Veazie tallied the first goal of the
game when she found the back of the cage off a feed from Morgan
Rein (Mystic, Conn.) with 28:47 remaining in the game. Plymouth
State answered right back to knot the contest at a goal apiece when
sophomore Morgan Lemmon (Gilford, N.H.) tallied
the equalizer five minutes later.

Veazie, who took 11 shots in the game, recorded the game-winning
mark with just 3:57 remaining in the game.  Veazie now has 16
goals this season, including six game-winners.

Emma Kaplan (Ridgefield, Conn.) picked up the win in goal for
Springfield as she made eight saves on the evening.   Her
counterpart, Panther senior Leah Curtin
(Londonderry, N.H.), kept the Panthers in the game throughout and
finished with 17 saves.
