MARLBORO, Mass. - Freshman Robert Johnson (Fenton, Mich.) scored two goals Wednesday evening, including the game-winner with just over six minutes remaining, as Becker College rallied to defeat Plymouth State University, 3-2, in an ECAC Northeast Conference men's ice hockey game at The Sports Center.

Becker led 1-0 after one period on Johnson's first goal of the game just 1:35 after the opening face-off, but the Hawks had to come from behind after PSU tallied a pair of unanswered markers.  Sophomore Sean Buckley (Sagamore, Mass.) scored the only goal of the second period to tie it at 1-1, and senior Dave Dufresne (Dracut, Mass.) put the Panthers ahead at the 8:08 mark of the third period.

Freshman Trevor Peltak (Merrimack, N.H.) notched his first career goal at 11:27 of the third to even the score at 2-2, and Johnson, who had only one goal this season coming into the game, notched his second goal of the night at 13:48 in what proved to be the game-winner.

There were very few whistles in the game as PSU was not called for a penalty and Becker was only issued four minor penalties. The Panthers did not score on their four power play attempts.

Shots on goal in the game were even at 25-apiece.  Junior Tony Stoehr (De Pere, Wis.) made 23 saves to earn the win for Becker, while sophomore Kevin Crosby (Farmington, Conn.) made 22 saves in the Panther net.

PSU, 3-6 overall and 2-4 in conference games, plays its final game of the first semester this Saturday at Waterville Valley with a non-conference home game against Castleton State College (6:00 p.m.)  Becker, 3-7 and 2-4, is done for the semester and will be back on the ice at the Assumption Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30.
