DUDLEY, Mass. - The Plymouth State University
men's lacrosse team scored four unanswered goals in the second
quarter Sunday afternoon, taking the lead for good and going on to
post a 12-6 non-conference victory over Nichols College at Vendetti
Field.

The Panthers tallied the first goal of the third quarter to go
ahead 6-2, but Nichols got the next two to pull back to within two
goals. Even after PSU scored three straight to take a 9-4
advantage, the Bison hung tough and got two goals to make it a 9-6
game.  But Plymouth State proved too strong, scoring the next
three goals and holding on for the win, improving its record to
4-2.

Senior Adam Krinsky (Concord, N.H.) led the
Panther offense with three goals and three assists, while freshman
Andrew Eriksen (Beverly, Mass.) and senior
John Cogswell (Jefferson, Mass.) also notched
three goals apiece.  Sophomore Kyle Belanger
(Southington, Conn.) chipped in with two goals, freshman
Teddy Akriviellis (Dover, Mass.) added one, and
sophomore Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.)
finished with three assists.

Freshman goalie Kevin Hayes (Beverly, Mass.)
picked up the win for PSU in his first career start, making 13
saves.  Senior long-stick midfielder Mike
Russell (Concord, N.H.) led the team with five ground
balls, and freshman defender Jason Shinkwin
(Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin) collected four.

Senior Lucas Wilson (Falmouth, Mass.) led Nichols
(0-6) with a pair of goals while senior Peter
Smyth (Bradford, Mass.) chipped in with one goal and two
assists. In net, freshman Austin Healy (Westford,
Mass.) recorded 17 saves.
