              NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Junior Kalie Judd (Peabody, Mass.) and freshman Alicia Doucet (Manchester, N.H./Central) combined to score 53 points Saturday afternoon to lead Plymouth State University to an 81-73 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference women's basketball game at the Tripp Athletic Center.

              Judd scored a career-high 27 points by making 9-of-11 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range and all six free throws.  Doucet also reached her career-high with 26 points, converting 11-of-19 field goal attempts, and finished one rebound shy of a double-double, collecting a team-high nine boards.  Junior Laura Kent (Bellingham, Mass.) added 14 points to the Panther cause.

              PSU won its sixth straight contest, improving to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.  The Panthers have already won more games than they did last season, when they finished 11-15.  The 12 victories and the six-game win streak is the team's best since the 2002-03 squad won eight in a row and finished 23-9.  The Corsairs fell to 3-12 overall and 0-5 in LEC action.

              UMD, which used only six players, got a team-high 25 points from senior Vicki Andruszkiewicz (Danvers, Mass.) and 19 points from sophomore Tashauna Ashmeade (Hyannis, Mass.)  Senior Madison Malloy (Cranston, R.I.) chipped in with 11 points and junior Kaylin Nelson (New Bedford, Mass.) contributed 10.

              The Panthers built a 27-20 advantage in the first 16 minutes of the first half, but UMD came back, using a 10-2 run to take a 30-29 lead into the locker room. Judd's jumper with 24 seconds left kept PSU within a point at halftime.

              Judd's lay-up with 3:01 left in the second half gave PSU a 73-68 lead, and the Panthers then made eight consecutive free throws in the final 1:52 to seal the victory. Kent and senior Kayla Morin (Pascoag, R.I.) each made a pair, and Judd hit the final four.

              Both teams are back in action at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with LEC home games, the Corsairs hosting Rhode Island College and the Panthers entertaining rival Keene State.
