PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Sophomore Christina
Parisi (Hampton Falls, N.H.) came off the bench to score
twice in the first half, leading Plymouth State University over
Lasell College Wednesday, 4-0, in non-conference field hockey
action.
Plymouth
State remains unbeaten to start the season, improving to 4-0.
The Lasers put up a strong battle but dropped to 0-4.
The Panthers dominated the game out of the gate, outshooting Lasell
for the game, 36-2. PSU's first goal came midway through the
first half when Parisi scored her first goal after dribbling around
the Laser defenders in front of the net. Parisi netted
another less than five minutes later off a rebound from a shot by
teammate Cortney Colligan (Brookfield, N.H.)
giving the Panthers a 2-0 lead at the break.
Sophomore Lauren Bergeron (New Hampton, N.H.) and
junior Kristina Conroy (Wakefield, Mass.) each
scored once in the second half to seal the win. Plymouth
State also won last year's game by the same score, 4-0.
The Lasers' two shots came from sophomore Hannah
Cebry (Burlington, Conn.) in the middle of the first
period.
Sophomore Elyse Sedgley (Hopkinton, N.H.) played
the first half in the Panther net and made two saves to record her
fourth win of the year. Freshman Hannah
Sawyer (Kingston, N.H.) replaced Sedgley for the second
half in her first collegiate appearance of her career. Lasell
sophomore keeper Erin Norton (Yarmouth, Maine)
made 14 saves in the loss.
PSU will host UMass Dartmouth in Little East Conference play this
Friday at 4:00 p.m. Lasell will be back home to host
Castleton this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
