PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two standouts on the
Plymouth State University women's lacrosse team were honored
Monday with top weekly honors from the Little East Conference
(LEC).
Sophomore Brianna Davis (Framingham, Mass.) and
senior Kalie Judd (Peabody, Mass./Veterans
Memorial) were named LEC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and
Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. They helped lead
the Panthers to a 2-0 record last week, including a key victory
over Keene State that gave PSU a share of the LEC regular season
title.
A sophomore attacker, Davis (right) led PSU with
eight goals and one assist in the 2-0 week. She scored a
game-high five goals and collected four draw controls in the
pivotal game against Keene State, including scoring the
game-clinching goal with six minutes remaining, and she recorded
three goals and one assist in Saturday's 12-8 victory over
Norwich in the regular season finale.
A Second Team All-LEC as a freshman last year, Davis has continued
as one of the top offensive players in the conference. She
has scored 45 goals, 13 assists and 58 points this season and ranks
third in the Little East in goals per game, eighth in assists per
game and fifth in points per game. Davis also leads the LEC with
four game-winning goals.
A two-time All-LEC First Team midfielder, Judd (left) was
dominant in the 2-0 week as the Panthers allowed only eight goals
in each game. She finished with four draw controls and two
ground balls in the pivotal game against Keene State, and she
recorded five caused turnovers, five ground balls and seven draw
controls in Saturday's non-conference win over Norwich.
Judd also contributed to the offense with two goals and an assists
against Keene State and three goals and an assist vs. Norwich.
Judd is among the league leaders in several categories on both
offense and defense. She has scored 36 goals, 23 assists and
59 points this spring and ranks seventh in the Little East in goals
per game, and second in both assists and points per game. She leads
the Little East with 4.2 ground balls and 6.2 draw controls per
contest, and ranks fourth with 1.9 caused turnovers per game.
Judd is also ranked fourth in the nation in NCAA
Division III in draw controls.
Davis and Judd will lead the second-seeded Panthers, 10-4 overall
and riding a six-game winning streak, into an LEC semifinal playoff
game Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Arold Field against the winner of
Tuesday's opening round game between third-seeded Eastern
