PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After helping Plymouth State University post its first unbeaten Little East Conference (LEC) regular season in program history, freshman
Lilli Stogner (Weare, N.H.) took home LEC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week honors, the league announced today.
Stogner helped the Panthers to a 3-1 week and solidified the perfect conference regular season as PSU improved to 22-1 overall and 8-0 in conference play.
Stogner hit .279 and averaged just shy of three kills per set (2.93) for the Panthers. She matched a team-high with 18 kills while hitting .341 and added four digs and a pair of blocks as PSU rallied past Eastern Connecticut, 3-2, on Saturday to lock up the first unbeaten LEC regular season in team history. She added nine kills, two digs and a block as the Panthers followed the dramatic win over ECSU with a 3-0 sweep of Wheaton College in the day's second match.
Stogner also posted an eight-kill, one-block effort in a 3-0 setback to Middlebury on Tuesday, the team's lone blemish on its record, but followed with six kills as the Panthers rolled past Colby-Sawyer College, 3-0, on Thursday. Stogner leads the team with her 201 kills and 2.87 kills/set and is hitting a respectable .287 on the season.
Plymouth State wraps up the regular season with a non-conference tri-match at Smith College on Saturday against a pair of teams appearing in the first NCAA regional rankings. Plymouth State squares off against Babson College at 2:00 p.m., before facing the host Pioneers at 4:00 p.m.
