CASTLETON, Vt. – Sophomore
Taylor Healey (Campton, N.H.) scored twice and senior
Natalie Perry (Conway, N.H.) had a goal and two assists to push Plymouth State University past Castleton University, 3-2, in a Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey matchup at Dave Wolk Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Castleton came out firing and scored just under two minutes into the contest. The Panthers settled into the game and capitalized on a penalty corner when Healey buried her first of the night off an assist from Perry to tie the game at 1-1 after the first quarter.
Five minutes into the second quarter sophomore
Holly Temple (Topsham, Maine) found Perry from just inside the shooting circle off a penalty corner and Perry fired it in to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
Castleton evened the score when Theresa Culpo (Fair Haven, Vt.) scored on a rebound in the first minute of the third quarter. The game remained tied until Perry ripped another shot at the cage from 25 yards out that Healey deflected past the goalie for her second goal of the night with just over ten minutes remaining in regulation, and the Panthers held on for the win.
Plymouth State improves to 6-3 (4-2 LEC), while Castleton falls to 4-7 (2-3 LEC).

- Castleton scored just under two minutes in to give the hosts the early lead.
