PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior
Nora Ryan (Groton, Conn.) pounded down a match-best 12 kills without an error as Plymouth State University powered past Rhode Island College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-12), in Little East Conference women's volleyball action at The Murray Center on Saturday.
Ryan hit a sparkling .800 for the match and the PSU defense limiting the Anchorwomen to just a -.012 attack percentage as the Panthers returned to form for an important LEC win.
Plymouth State improves to 10-3 and 3-1 in the LEC, while the Anchorwomen now stand at 4-8 (1-3 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Despite forcing the hosts into more attack errors than kills, the Anchorwomen kept things close in the opening set, but Plymouth State was able to hold off the home six by a 25-22 margin.
- Plymouth State's offense was cooking in set two, going without an attack error to hit .455 (10-0-22) as the Panthers coasted to a 25-15 win.
- Leading 2-0, Plymouth State did not let up as the offense pounded down 11 kills and converted at a .357 rate, while limiting the hosts to just two kills and another negative attack percentage on the way to the 25-12 win.
By the Numbers:
- Ryan led the way with her 12 kills, while her .800 attack percentage was a career best (minimum eight attempts).
- Junior Ryley McNeeley (Easton, Mass.) was also impressive with five kills against no errors for a .455 attack percentage, while sophomore Lilli Stogner (Weare, N.H.) added six kills.
- Freshmen Kalista Butler (Philipsburg, Pa.) and Riley McDonough (Gilford, N.H.) split the setting duties, combining for 20 assists.
- The Panthers served up six aces to RIC's three. McDonough led the way with two.
- Sophomore Makayla Marucci (Newton, Mass.) paced the defense with 10 digs.
- Plymouth State hit .313 for the match, the second highest rate of the season.
- The match marked the third time this season the Panthers forced an opposing offense into a negative attack percentage.
- Plymouth State improves to 25-8 all-time against the Anchorwomen. The Panthers have won each of the last four meetings.
