WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Freshman
Alex Wasyliko (Londonderry, Vt.) continued a fantastic rookie season for the Plymouth State University men's swim team with two more victories, while PSU set six school records in a dual meet at Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday.
Wasyliko took his first win in his signature event, the 50-yard freestyle, where he cruised through the water in 23.18 seconds to set a new school record. He then broke another mark in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.40 seconds to take first overall.
He capped off his historic day by teaming up with sophomore
Lyden Fogg (Windham, Maine) and freshmen
Brendan Lee (Dover, N.H.) and
Aidan Moyer (Leesport, Pa.) in the 400-yard medley relay to demolish the previous school record by eight seconds with a time of 4:07.55 to place second.
Fogg also set a new standard in the 500-yard freestyle, with Lee posting a school-best time in the 400-yard IM and graduate student
Ryan Kudish (North Providence, R.I.) adding a new program best in the 1000-yard freestyle.
Despite the significant record-breaking effort, Eastern Connecticut swam away with the team win.

How it Happened:
- Kudish snagged the first school mark of the day in the 1000-yard freestyle as he finished with a time of 12:16.89 to finish third.
- Fogg began his day with a third place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:08.20, with freshman Brady Lyons (Methuen, Mass.) and junior Jason Zink (Stratford, Conn.) taking fifth and sixth.
- Wasyliko started his domination in the 50-yard freestyle, breaking his own program record again in a blazing 23.18 seconds to win the event.
- Sophomore Jimmy Blanco (Stark, N.H.) and junior Sebastian Daly (Nashua, N.H.) also placed third and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle.
- The duo of Lee and junior Tom Steinberg (Melrose, Mass.) placed third and fourth in the 400-yard IM with times of 5:29.84 and 5:41.09, respectively.
- Wasyliko claimed his second win in the 100-yard butterfly with another program-record time of 57.40 seconds.
- The trio of Moyer, Blanco and Lyons dominated the 100-yard freestyle by placing second, third and fifth.
- Kudish took third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.05.
- Lee and Zink finalized the individual events with third and fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Kudish, Blanco, Steinberg, and sophomore Adam Cilley (Barrington, N.H.) grouped together in the 400-yard freestyle relay to place third in 3:51.82.
- The final school record was broken by Fogg, Lee, Wasyliko and Moyer in the 400-yard medley relay in a phenomenal time of 4:07.55, roughly eight seconds faster than the previous best.
