DANBURY, Conn. – The ninth-seeded Plymouth State University women's basketball team fell to eighth-seeded Western Connecticut State University, 55-47, in a Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament Play-In game at Stephen Feldman Arena on Monday afternoon.
WestConn advances to face top-seeded Rhode Island College in the tournament quarterfinals, while the Panthers' season comes to a close. PSU outlasted WestConn in overtime at home just three days ago, but WCSU used its home court advantage to get past Plymouth State and advance.

Autumn Nelson (Weare, N.H.) scored eight points. Junior
Alessia Salzillo (Saugus, Mass.) added seven points in the losing effort.
Plymouth State is expected to return its entire roster next winter as the team did not have any seniors at the end of the year.
PSU ends the season with a 2-20 mark, while WestConn improves to 8-17.
