PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team cruised past the University of Massachusetts Boston, 63-39, in Little East Conference (LEC) action in a Saturday matinee in Foley Gymnasium.
The Panthers played inspired, spreading the ball and playing tough defense that held the Beacons to their fewest points scored this season.
Senior
Dante Rivera (Lawrence, Mass.) led all scorers with 12 points, while senior
Manny Alisandro (Manchester, N.H.) added 11 of his own. Sophomore
Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) was also in double-figures with 10 points in the winning effort.
Plymouth State has won three in a row and four-of-five to improve to 11-9 overall and 6-5 in the LEC. UMass Boston falls to 9-11 (5-7 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The Panthers started on their front foot with an 11-2 run in the first seven minutes of play.
- PSU extended the lead to 13, 19-6, with 6:50 remaining in the half.
- Back-to-back three-pointers by the Beacons cut the deficit to seven, 19-12, at the 3:51 mark.
- The Panthers responded with an eight-point run to extend the lead to 27-12 with 2:05 left to play in the half.
- UMB trimmed the deficit to 29-17 heading into halftime.
- The Panthers regained a 15-point lead after the first four minutes of the second half and UMB was unable to get any closer than ten points the rest of the way.

- Plymouth State's defense limited the Beacons to 14-of-55 (25.5%) from the floor and just 2-of-23 (8.7%) from beyond the arc.
- The Panthers outrebounded UMB by a 55-31 margin, including 19-7 on the offensive glass.
