JR Barone (West Chester, Pa.) scored twice to lead Plymouth State University to a 7-3 win over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's ice hockey game at Hetland Arena on Saturday evening.
Barone gave the Panthers a quick 3-0 lead midway through the first period and tacked on a power play tally in the third to leave him one point shy of the century mark for his career. Junior

Myles Abbate (Norwell, Mass.) and freshman

Now on a six-game win streak, Plymouth State runs its record to 14-4-2 and 11-1-2 in the MASCAC. UMass Dartmouth slips to 8-9-1 and 5-6-1 in MASCAC play.

How it Happened:
- Sophomore Whim Stalberg (Gotenburg, Sweden) opened the scoring early as PSU took a 1-0 lead just 5:08 into the contest.
- Laurin scored for the third straight game to double the lead at 11:16, and Barone knocked in an easy tally off a Corsairs' turnover just over a minute later to make it 3-0.
- UMD cut into the deficit with 3:23 left in the period, but Nasstrom banged home a rebound to restore the three-goal margin, 4-1, heading into the second period.
- Nasstrom slipped a pass to Stuckless in the low slot to push the lead to 5-1 midway through the second and junior Leo Stolpe (Stockholm, Sweden) caused a turnover with his forecheck before stuffing the puck between the UMD goaltender's legs as the margin ballooned to 6-1 at the 13:50 mark.
- The Corsairs attempted to rally, scoring twice in the first half of the final stanza, before Barone closed out the win with his team-leading 13th goal of the year.
By the Numbers:
- Plymouth State held a narrow 34-33 edge in shots on goal.
- Sophomore Kalle Andersson (Taby, Sweden) turned aside 30 shots in the win.
- The Laurin-Nasstrom-Stuckless line has been dynamite of late. The trio accounted for three goals and five assists tonight and have seven goals and 11 assists over the last three games.
- PSU has won eight straight and is 9-0-1 against the Corsairs over the last ten meetings.
