PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore
Crosby Fay (Waterville Valley, N.H.) bulldozed his way to a five-score game to lead Plymouth State University to a 16-9 win over Gordon College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game at Panther Field on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers stayed even with Gordon throughout the first quarter. Then Fay hit the ground running, scoring four goals in the second quarter alone to help the Panthers to an 8-4 lead at halftime. He added his fifth of the game during the final frame to help put the game out of reach.
Fay's five-goal effort was a career high and his second hat trick of the season, while junior
Mike Fleury (Lebanon, N.H.) added his first hat trick of the year.
Plymouth State snags its first win of the season to move to 1-2, while Gordon drops to 1-3.

How it Happened:
- Gordon got the scoring started with a pair of goals within a minute, but junior Karl Flinter (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and freshman Matt Miner (Chelmsford, Mass.) countered with goals of their own to make it 2-2.
- Fleury followed with his first of the day to break the tie, but Gordon answered back quickly to remain at a stalemate of 3-3.
- Gordon went ahead with a man-up goal to start the second stanza.
- Fay retaliated with four goals, with senior Riley Roy (Laconia, N.H.) also punching one in, to double-up Gordon, 8-4, to close out the half.
- The Panthers' assault continued with Fleury leading the charge with two goals and Roy and junior Nick Drew (Chelmsford, Mass.) also hitting the back of the cage.
- Gordon was able to sneak in two goals through PSU's explosive offense to cut the margin to 12-6 entering the final quarter.
- Fay closed out the game with his fifth goal, with Drew and sophomores Nolan Burke (Worcester, Mass.) and Liam Brown (Center Harbor, N.H.) tallying a total of four scores on the way to the 16-9 win.

- Sophomore Seth Marcotte (Plaistow, N.H.) and freshman Leif Charbonneau (North Grafton, Mass.) were effective at the start, going a combined 17-of-28 on faceoffs.
- The Panthers totaled 17 caused turnovers, with sophomore Marc Hirshom (East Walpole, Mass.) leading the way with five and senior Mark Iamele (Georgetown, Mass.) accounting for another four.
- Plymouth State went 18-of-24 in clears, while Gordon was 16-of-26.
