PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior Willie Lombard (Bridgewater, Mass.) and senior Manny Sanchez (Hartford, Conn.) were both honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) following their performances in Plymouth State University's 41-34 win over Bridgewater State University on Saturday.
 
Lombard was named MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week, while Sanchez earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll for a second straight week.
 
Lombard racked up 299 all-purpose yards, including a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown, to help the Panthers rally from 14-down on two separate occasions and pick up a key MASCAC win over the Bears. Lombard amassed 186 kickoff return yards to go with 55 yards rushing on ten carries and 58 yards receiving on four catches. His kickoff return TD helped the Panthers erased a 28-21 deficit in the third quarter.
 
Sanchez rushed for 94 yards and got into the end zone twice in the come-from-behind thriller. He averaged better than four yards per carry and sliced through the defense on an 18-yard TD run late in the third quarter to tie the game at 28-28. In the fourth quarter, Sanchez pushed through the pile from one yard out to give the Panthers their first lead of the game, 34-28, with nine minutes remaining.
 
Bridgewater State would tie the game, but PSU took the lead for good on its next possession before a goal line stand gave Plymouth State its first win over the Bears since the 2017 season.
 
Plymouth State (3-0, 1-0 MASCAC) enjoys its bye week before heading to preseason favorite Framingham State on Oct. 1 for a noon kickoff.
