GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore
Elena Cardoso (Hudson, Mass.) and junior
Erin Good (Dartmouth, Mass.) each won twice to help Plymouth State University to a 9-0 win over the University of Southern Maine in a Little East Conference (LEC) women's tennis match at USM Fieldhouse on Tuesday afternoon.
Good picked up her first collegiate win in impressive fashion, not surrendering a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, while Cardoso was equally as dominant at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Each also played a role in 8-1 wins in doubles action.
Plymouth State jumps to 4-3 (2-2 LEC), while Southern Maine slides to 0-7 and 0-3 in conference play.

How it Happened:
- Cardoso teamed up with freshman Alyssa Craigie (Gilford, N.H.) at No. 1 doubles, cruising to an 8-1 win, while Good and junior Sarah Asciutto (Manchester, Vt.) teamed up for an identical 8-1 victory at No. 2 pairs.
- The Huskies defaulted at No. 3 doubles to give PSU a quick 3-0 lead.
- Senior Megan Marshall (Dartmouth, Mass.) picked up her fourth win of the season at No. 1 singles with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win.
- Sophomore Tessa LaBarre (North Smithfield, R.I.) rolled to a straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2, while Cardoso and Good didn't drop a game at No. 3 or No. 4 singles.
- Southern Maine defaulted at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- PSU improves to 23-6 in head to head matchups dating back to the 1995 season.
- The Panthers have won each of the last 13 meetings and haven't dropped more than one team point since the 2013-14 season.
- LaBarre picked up her fourth-straight singles win.
- Craigie and Cardoso lead the doubles pairings with a 5-2 mark.
- Good earned her first collegiate wins.
