PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Sophomore Lyden Fogg (Windham, Maine) won twice and freshman Alex Wasyliko (Londonderry, Vt.) and graduate student Ryan Kudish (North Providence, R.I.) each posted a win and two second place finishes, but WestConn held off Plymouth State University, 119-116, in a dual meet at the PSU Natatorium on Saturday.
 
Fogg was the first to touch the wall in both the 100-yard and 50-yard backstroke, while Wasyliko took first in the 50-yard butterfly with second place finishes in the 50-yard and 200-yard freestyle. Kudish outswam the field in the 50-yard breaststroke and was runner-up in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard IM.
 
The trio also joined up with sophomore Jimmy Blanco (Stark, N.H.) to win the 200-yard medley relay, though the Wolves were able to hold on for the narrow team victory.

How it Happened:

• The quartet of Fogg, Kudish, Wasyliko and Blanco got the Panthers off on the right foot with a win in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:47.67.
• Freshman Brendan Lee (Dover, N.H.) was first to touch the wall in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:24.52.
• Wasyliko picked up his fist of two second place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.62.
• Fogg set a new pool record while winning the 50-yard backstroke in 28.43, then Kudish took home the top spot in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 30.92.
• Freshman Brady Lyons (Methuen, Mass.) took second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.95.
• Wasyliko was just out-touched in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.17, finishing a mere 0.04 seconds off the lead.
• Blanco followed with a second place showing in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.70.
• Fogg capped his day with a win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.96), while Kudish took second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.28.
• Wasyliko claimed victory in the 50-yard butterfly finishing in 25.20, just off the pace of his season best 25.04.
• Kudish closed out the afternoon with a second place in the 100-yard IM in 1:03.14.
• Lyons and Lee teamed up with juniors Jason Zink (Stratford, Conn.) and Tom Steinberg (Melrose, Mass.) to finish the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:51.04.
