PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman
Jacob Morris (Kennebunk, Maine) and graduate student
Jake Donahue (Hudson, N.H.) were both recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with weekly honors for their roles in Plymouth State University's thrilling 20-19 win at Westfield State University on Saturday.
Morris was named Rookie of the Week, while Donahue earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll.
Morris made the most of his first career catch as he snagged a 53-yard Hail Mary at the front of the end zone with no time left on the clock for the game-winning TD. He elevated over three Owls' defenders to make the clean catch and secure the walk-off win.
Donahue hauled in a career-high ten balls for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win. He made three catches for 37 yards on the opening drive alone, including a diving snag in the back right corner of the end zone for the game's first points. Eight of his ten catches went for more than ten yards.
Plymouth State hosts Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday (Nov. 4) in a Senior Day clash with the Buccaneers. Kickoff is set for noon.
