SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior
Lyden Fogg (South Portland, Maine) set a new school record while winning the 200-yard freestyle but Eastern Connecticut State University swam past the Plymouth State University men's swim team, 191-62, in a dual meet at Alumni Healthful Living Center Pool at Western New England University on Saturday.
Fogg was the Panthers' lone event winner after an outstanding effort in the 200-yard freestyle. His time of 1:58.66 was more than two seconds faster than the previous mark and a more impressive ten seconds ahead of his previous fastest time.
He added one of PSU's four second-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke, while freshmen
Aidan Moyer (Leesport, Pa.) and
Aiden MacDonald (Hopkinton, Mass.) and junior
Jimmy Blanco (Stark, N.H.) also posted runner-up finishes.
PSU suffers its first dual meet loss of the year to slip to 4-1, while Eastern Connecticut improves to 2-1.

How it Happened:
- Fogg swam to victory in the 200-yard freestyle in a school-record 1:58.66. His time was 9.54 seconds faster than his previous best, and more than a half-second ahead of the previous record.
- Blanco took second in the 50-yard backstroke in 29.13.
- Sophomore Brendan Lee (Dover, N.H.) was just out-touched to take third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.72.
- MacDonald showed off his speed in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.95 seconds to take third.
- Fogg and senior Tom Steinberg (Melrose, Mass.) finished second and third in the 100-yard backstroke, with Fogg touching the wall in 58.77 seconds.
- Lee followed with a third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Moyer posted a time of 5:42.95 in the 500-yard freestyle to finish second and Macdonald followed with a runner-up finish in the 50-yard butterfly in 26.31.
- Blanco closed out his day with a third place finish in the 100-yard IM in a personal best 1:05.76.
- MacDonald, Moyer, freshman Marco D'Addona (Torrington, Conn.) and Fogg teamed up to take third in the 200-yard freestyle relay to cap the meet.
