Jake Dolcimascolo (Georgetown, Mass.) poured in a career-high nine points and junior
Crosby Fay (Waterville Valley, N.H.) scored six goals to lead Plymouth State University over New England College, 18-7, in a non-conference men's lacrosse game at Don Melander Field on Monday night.
The Panthers held first quarter leads of 3-1 and 5-3, but each time NEC battled back to even the score. PSU closed out the first half with a 4-0 spurt, though, and the offense outscored the Pilgrims by a 9-2 margin in the second half as Plymouth State cruised to another victory.
Plymouth State improves to 6-1 on the season, while the Pilgrims fall to 0-6.

How it Happened:
- NEC opened the scoring three minutes into the contest, but Dolcimascolo and Fay teamed up for three straight goals.
- Fay converted a feed from Dolcimascolo to tie the score before Dolcimascolo put the Panthers ahead with 10:41 left in the first. Fay followed with a man-up goal 36 seconds later for a 3-1 advantage.
- NEC answered with back-to-back goals to pull even with 3:25 remaining in the period, but freshman Brady Hunt (Billerica, Mass.) found the back of the cage twice to give PSU a 5-3 edge after one.
- The Pilgrims rallied again with consecutive goals in the first three minutes of the second to pull even at 5-5, but Plymouth State closed the half with an offensive barrage.
- Fay scored twice during a 4-0 run, while senior Karl Flinter (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore Aiden O'Loughlin (Londonderry, N.H.) also beat the NEC goalie with Dolcimascolo setting up three of the scores as PSU took a 9-5 advantage into the break.
- Plymouth State continued to pull away with three straight goals to open the third quarter. Senior Mike Fleury (Lebanon, N.H.) made it 10-5 after five minutes before Hunt and Dolcimascolo added to the margin.
- NEC momentarily stopped the surge, but Fleury and Hunt added back-to-back goals in the final minutes for a 14-6 lead heading to the fourth.
- The Pilgrims started the final period with a man-up goal just 20 seconds in, but Plymouth State poured in four straight to cap the win. Fay scored twice before sophomore Cole Wallace (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and freshman Nic Lorizio (Milton, Mass.) closed out the scoring.
By the Numbers:
- Dolcimascolo poured in nine points on two goals and seven assists.
- Fay finished with a season-high six goals.
- Hunt's four goals were a career high.
- Sophomore Leif Charbonneau (Grafton, Mass.) won 15-of-26 faceoffs and grabbed a team high nine ground balls, while Dolcimascolo added four ground balls.
- O'Loughlin, sophomore Joey Loeber (Chelmsford, Mass.) and freshman Zach Marvel (Raynham, Mass.) all recorded two caused turnovers.
- Junior Owen McNichols (Manchester, N.H.) picked up the win after making five saves.
- Plymouth State outshot the Pilgrims by a 47-25 margin.
- PSU went 3-for-10 in man-up situations, while NEC was 1-for-6.
- The Pilgrims held a slight 43-39 edge in ground balls.
- The Panthers were 21-of-24 on clear attempts and won 15-of-25 faceoffs.
