SALEM, Mass. – Freshman
Josh Manickam (Littleton, Mass.) tallied his first college goal and hat trick and 14 different players scored as Plymouth State University routed Salem State University, 19-0, in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's lacrosse game at Alumni Field on Tuesday night.

Jake Dolcimascolo (Georgetown, Mass.) had a goal and an assist and sophomore
Matt Miner (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored twice in the opening period as PSU snagged an early 5-0 lead. The Panthers poured in six more in the second quarter, with freshman
Brady Hunt (Billerica, Mass.) notching a goal and four assists in the frame alone, as the lead grew to 11-0 by the half.
Manickam had a hand in all three third-quarter goals, scoring twice and adding an assist, then capped his standout performance with another score in the fourth quarter to help wrap up the blowout win.
Plymouth State improves to 9-3 (2-2 LEC) on the year, while the Vikings sink to 1-11 and 0-4 in conference play.

How it Happened:
- Miner scored less than a minute in, then doubled the lead with his second of the day at the midpoint of the first quarter.
- Dolcimascolo followed less than ten seconds later to make it 3-0.
- Junior Crosby Fay (Waterville Valley, N.H.) and senior Karl Flinter (Pittsburgh, Pa.) got into the action with late goals to make it 5-0 after one.
- Senior Mike Fleury (Lebanon, N.H.) rifled a shot into the Salem State cage 50 seconds into the second before Hunt set up the next four goals. Hunt got into the goal-scoring column himself late in the stanza to push the lead to 11-0 at the half.
- Manickam scored his first two college goals in the third quarter, then set up freshman Nic Lorizio (Milton, Mass.) just before the clock went to zero for a 14-0 advantage.
- Plymouth State was never challenged, scoring five more times in the last period to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- Hunt led the Panthers with five points, while Manickam notched a game-high three goals and added an assist.
- Sophomore Ryan Jones (Tolland, Conn.) and freshman Nate Curtin (Norwell, Mass.) chipped in a goal and two assists apiece. Curtin's goal was the first of his career.
- Junior Owen McNichols (Manchester, N.H.) picked up the win, while junior Jessy Hirwa (Concord, N.H.) and freshman Matt Montoya (Shrewsbury, Mass.) added 45 minutes of scoreless action in goal.
- The 19 goals were the most since scoring 24 in a win over the Vikings last spring.
- The game was PSU's first shutout since a 16-0 blanking of Mitchell College during the 2006 season.
- The Panthers outshot Salem State by a whopping 61-17 margin.
- Plymouth State won the ground ball battle, 51-10, and won 20-of-22 faceoffs.
- PSU has won each of the last 22 meetings.
